  • Food places offering delivery or takeaway


    Olby's Soul Cafe - offering takeaway and delivery service of their Sunday Roast. To order, email them on olbyssoul@gmail.com to request a menu and send your choices and they will confirm a collection time with you. Available Sunday only until 28 March, midday to 6pm, and then Saturdays and Sundays from 28 March, midday to 6pm.


    Storeroom by Curve - delivery service available of their bean or ground coffee. They will drop your coffee off by the end of the day (for orders placed before 1pm) or the following day (for orders placed after 1pm).     Little Swift - delivery service available of their fresh cans and bottles, draft beer, natural wine, premixed cocktails, and handmade soft drinks. Deliveries are Wednesday, Friday and Saturday to CT7, CT8, CT9, CT10 and CT11 postcodes. Orders need to be placed and paid for by 3pm, with deliveries made between 5 and 7pm.     Modern Provider - contact-free delivery service available of bread, milk and eggs on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday in Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate.     Dory's - selling takeaway fish pies (£8 each or two for £15). They also sell fresh fish, shellfish, oysters, mussels and more to take away (text 07506888051 to be added to their WhatsApp group to place orders).

    Our Kitchen on the Isle of Thanet - free food and a range of meal kits will be put on a table outside 200 Margate Road, Ramsgate, CT12 6AQ every day from 10am to 2pm. Everything is free, or you can pay a donation if you can.

    Age UK - offers a Buddy Box Meal Delivery Service which delivers hot meals seven days a week across all of Thanet for £8 per meal, including a main course and a dessert. Call 01843 223881 or email info@ageukthanet.org.uk


    The Lifeboat Project - offering free deliveries of care packages for those in isolation, including food, toiletries and entertainment (crosswords, card games etc.). They also plan to set up a phone line and social media hub to access tips on combating loneliness whilst in isolation. To donate or find out how you can help this project click here.

  • Help with shopping

    Rose Farm Shop and Elmwood Farm Broadstairs are taking orders for NHS staff only for boxes of potatoes and seasonal vegetables that they can collect out of hours or after a shift. Text Geoffrey with your name and order on 0775 384 0294.


    A2B cars are offering to do the shopping for elderly or vulnerable people (collect the shopping list, do the shop and return to you free of charge). Call 01843 263 263.


    Herboristerie is offering a delivery service of herbal medicine including prescriptions, teas, syrups, essential oils, vitamins and supplements. Contact Kim on 07759 439 855 / herboristerie.margate@yahoo.com


    A group of residents in Broadstairs is offering free help for anyone who is over 70, vulnerable, has no other support and lives in the Broadstairs area. They can collect shopping and medicine and deliver to you with no physical contact. You can also call them for a chat if you are feeling lonely, isolated or worried.     Age UK is launching a temporary emergency shopping service from 19/03 for £7.50 plus the cost of the shopping. Call 01843 223881 or email info@ageukthanet.org.uk

  • Help with the kids

    Lizzie Prince is offering online creative dance classes for children of all ages. The classes are every Thursday, 10.30am to 11.15am and it's pay-what-you-can. All donations will go to a local food delivery service for vulnerable people. To join email Lizzie on lizzie@flockdance.com or send her a direct message on Instagram and she will send you a zoom invite on Thursday mornings to join.

    Lilliput Road has introduced a new package to help parents who are now working from home. The package is three and a half hours long at their premises. You can work using their free WiFi whilst your child plays, supervised by a qualified team member. Contact them via Facebook or Instagram to find out more and book.

    Project MotorHouse, a charity for young people in Ramsgate, is launching a new Instagram account on 3 April with images from young people in lockdown and referral information for any young people who aren't coping with the isolation. Click here to view it.

  • Volunteering & help needed


    The St Austine and St Gregory's Church Food Parcels Service desperately need basic tinned food items like baked beans, tomatoes etc., and packet soups, tea, coffee, sugar, cereals and fresh fruit and vegetables. The food is for people who use their service, which include homeless people and those on benefits. Any donations are very welcome. They are open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 9.30am to 1pm. Their address is 38 Charlotte Place, Margate, CT9 1LP.


    Margate Scrubbers is looking for tailors, seamstresses and sewing folk to sew 250 pairs of scrubs for the NHS. They will provide cloth and can also cut them out. Click here to join the group and contact them.

    Kent Adult Education has launched a wide range of online courses, including drawing, illustration, crochet, history, writing and more. Click here to view the range and book.


    Modern Provider has created 'home bake' bread kits so you can make a few loaves of bread yourself. Pick up from their store at Unit 16, The Centre, or local delivery is also available if you are self-isolating.

    Isolation Arts School is offering projects, lessons and tips by artists to help people get creative. Visit their Instagram page to watch a variety of videos. They have also launched Artist Support Pledge to support artists during this time - artists post images of their work that they are willing to sell for no more than £200 each (not including shipping) and every time the artist reaches £1000 of sales they pledge to buy another artist's work for £200.


    The Margate Bookshop offers free postage for their books if you spend over £10. If you live in Margate and are self-isolating then they can also deliver to your doorstep.
